The Week in Review: Money Issues #8

“The Week in Review: Money Issues” is my weekly blog research on financial topics that define us as Americans, and shape the way we should do business.

Whew … busy week. Not only for me, but also for this country!

I’ve been trying to make sense of all this political campaigning that is only a couple words and grammar changes away from truly sounding like the Divine Comedy (all fire and brimstone-like)!

Give us a break! This country has seen its share of ups and downs, but one thing is certain: we always land back on our feet. Always. I’m actually kind of mad that the Republican Party is still trying these scare-the-crap-out-of-you tactics (since they worked so well in 2004) with the single goal of undermining our intelligence. My fellow Americans, we are not going to hell in a hand basket, and “No” we are not going to suffer another Great Depression (there is Federal protection in place now) so whichever way you decide to vote this election, do it with you own logic (not the hyped-up-for-ratings media’s).

I found a few informative (yet, somewhat quirky) articles for you to ponder on. I hope they help you determine which candidate is better suited to handle not only your own finances, but also the country’s at large:

Blogging Stocks: $700 billion is real money! This is something we should all think about before we enter the voting booths this year. It’s like they came up with this outrageous number Dr.Evil-style (“I’ll sell out this country for … $700 billion dollars … Ah, Ah, Ah!” No thank you, Bernake. Try again).

Daily Kos: Gimme The Money, Or The Debate Gets It! I remember this fight from a fifth grade recess. As I recall, the other guy went on to become class president. As for his sidekick Palin, I definitely won’t be making any lipstick references (that silent “pit-bull” is dangerous. Whooo).

Weekly World News: MCCAIN WILL SELL HAWAII TO RAISE CASH! From the makers of those trashy black and white tabloids at the supermarket, comes this all too unbelievable story (ok, it’s sort of believable after this week’s republican circus)! Article next to this one: WE CAUGHT THE LOCHNESS MONSTER. AGAIN! (just kidding, or am I?)

The political fancier. McCain Is Not Uncle Tom, Obama Is Not Malcolm X. The media networks are trying to divide us, people! This article should make you want to turn off the boob tube news until November 4th and find your answers elsewhere (but try to catch the debates, if those two red-meat nut-jobs [JM & SP] show up. These things should be hilarious).

POLITICO: Online activists rise against the bailout. People, the Bush Administration’s politics has put this nation in a super tight spot, but don’t you believe for a second that we need to run in now and throw this much cash at these greedy, corrupt companies without finding out every option we have first. Hey McCain, what’s the rush? Go to your debate, like a real man would!

As always, if you liked these articles (sorry if I got too political, I just really need some change) and have a few extra moments to spare, please send me your feedback (I’d really like to hear from you). Also, let me know what you would like me to write about and I’ll make sure to give it to you.

If you haven’t done so yet, please sign up to Money Remix’s feed or email. This way, you’ll be able to receive instant notification of new posts from your new pals over here pounding them out every weekday.

See you back here on Monday! Oh yea, McCain I’ll see you tonight at the debates (or not, sorry I had to give that cheap shot. I’m good like that)! Goodbye, my friend.

P.S. This is the last week for my Saturday and Sunday nonsense. Catch it if you can!
