The Week in Review: Money Issues #27

“The Week in Review: Money Issues” is my weekly blog research on financial topics that define us as Americans, and shape the way we should do business.

Ok, It’s time to get out of here pretty soon, seeing as how it’s getting late in the day!

If you read last week’s review, you know that I am a new man as of last Saturday. Well, I have to be totally honest with you: the married life seems to be no different from the single one, with a couple of exceptions, of course. No longer can I be depressed about not finding my one true love, and never will there be a time when I get to burn a dinner by myself, and then eat it by myself (this is a big one for me. LOL).

Well, enough of my sappy stuff … here goes the best that I could uncover this week while blog-surfing:

The American Prospect: Inventories of Unsold Homes Plunge, Along With Sales. If you looking to have your house value stabilize anytime soon (especially if you bought in late) you might not want to read this! However, if you are thinking of waiting around for a couple years before you buy a home, please … read on (smart guy).

Workbench: Newspapers Have Been Dying Since the 50’s. The truth behind this: newspapers are owned by the gatekeepers (this is a well-known fact) and don’t really know how to report the news that most of us want to hear. They do line a bird-cage quite well I’ve heard though (perhaps they should cross market into this sector).

Vnunet.com: Man hit with $27,000 phone data bill. Ok, let me start off by saying that if I ever got a bill for $27,000 for watching a football game, the first thing I would do is drop my provider pronto and let them try to collect (fact: they never will). Second, when they offered to reduce my bill to $6,000 I would tell them to go pound sand. Third, the new bill for $290.65 would still go unpaid! Screw AT&T!

Baltimoresun.com: Calif. Mayor Who Sent White House Watermelon Patch E-mail Quits. As he should! Seriously, this isn’t 1951 and that kind of humor should have no place in politics (these guys apparently didn’t get the memo that the redneck cowboy has left the building). As for Salisbury Sage’s comment: It was a racist joke, and for you to say it was funny is just showing your true colors (or lack thereof).

BISH ON FISH: British angler lands monster stingray in Thailand. For those who don’t know I love to fish. Also, for those who don’t know, I don’t think this guy should be grabbing this monster’s tail like that (isn’t that the part that got Steve Irwin?). Impressive none-the-less … my hat goes off to you sir (now get away from its tail!).

Well, everyone, I’m heading out for the weekend, so why don’t you do me a small favor and join us Remixers! Why not tell us what the other sites don’t want to hear (trust me, we’re going to listen) through our feedback section! This way we’ll know what you want to read, you’ll see what we like to read, and then it’ll be like one big family (sound cool?). Over here at Money Remix, we truly love to know what our customers like to read, so that we can keep our jobs in this tough economy (for most people today, there’s some truthfulness in that last statement)!

Also if you haven’t done so yet, please subscribe to my daily feed or email! This way I can send you instant notifications of all my latest posts, which are worked on every Monday through Friday by your pal Pete (or Peter, if you want to get formal. LOL).

I’ll see you back here on Monday … I’m going to enjoy the start of my new life with Jen, without all our family members around. Have yourself a great weekend, my friend!
