The Week in Review: Money Issues #19

“The Week in Review: Money Issues” is my weekly blog research on financial topics that define us as Americans, and shape the way we should do business.

Here come the holidays, people (and by “people” I really mean my new friends [note: you’re one of them, if you choose to accept this offer])!

I have a very long drive that starts at 5:30 tomorrow morning! I will be redbulling and coffeeing it all the way up I-95 from Boca Raton to Philly (I more than likely will have some major migraine headaches somewhere around South Carolina)! Who am I taking up with me, you ask? Well my fiancée (who is also my copilot, willing to split the driving 50-50) and my whining hound dog named Bailey (I have some “calm down” pills for him). Man, this should be fun … until we hit those ice storms that are wreaking havoc on the whole Northeast this weekend!

Well, here goes the best of the best that I could dig up this week … enjoy:

UNREALITYTV: Simon Cowell Wants Britney Spears For American Idol 2009. Of course he does (that guy is a greedy leach! Why wouldn’t he?)! He has no talent, he’s rude to people that have some, and he’s the worst type of human being out there: the kind that will do anything for a buck! God, I give his father credit for not leaving him on the side of the road somewhere!

Graney and The Pig’s Blog: VEGAS PARALYZED BY SNOW STORM. See, all you naysayers, hell can freeze over! Seriously though, it’s only a couple of inches, and they’re acting like the world is coming to an end (try growing up in the Northeast where it sometimes snows in the springtime).

SFGate.com: Bush’s shoe-throwing critic: For many, an instant hero. The world news weighs in on the monumental salute to the man who has lead us in the wrong direction for way too many years! Some say this reporter should be imprisoned; still, some think he’s a champion! I’ll let you guess what I think (clue: I’ll tell you on January 20th, when I’ll be able to, for the first time in eight years, use my first amendment rights and still be called an American)!

BITTEN&BOUND: Obama’s Newly Discovered College Photo Shoot (Video). Man, he was too cool for school, even back then. I do want to point something out with that middle top photo though: that’s not how you grip a cigarette (Ok, he already copped to smoking the good stuff before he got into office, but it’s still the cherry-on-top-of-the-sundae to see him actually doing it. Unlike that poser Clinton back in the day. Just kidding Clinton, you’re still cool too)!

CROOKSANDLIARS: What you may not learn from watching Fox’s reality show with Sheriff Joe Arpaio. Yea, this show’s plot seems lame. So does Fox. So does Fox News. So does Rupert Murdoch. This also sounds kind of illegal, and very stupid. You’ve been warned: watch this garbage at your own risk. Man, I hope they get rid of this channel soon (it rots the brains of anyone who watches it. Seriously)!

If you were fond of these articles, or even if you weren’t, can you do me a favor and please send me your valuable feedback so that I can at least learn from my mistakes (I promise I will try better next time)? Also, I’m really interested in hearing any tips you can offer me so that this site can start becoming more personal to you, as one of my readers. Just let me know, and I’ll try to accommodate everyone.

Also, if you haven’t done so already, please subscribe to our easy-to-sign-up-for feed or email, so that you’ll be able to receive our instant notifications of the new daily posts Geoff and I write each weekday.

I’m going on vacation until next Monday (I told you already, right? Sorry, I’m absent-minded sometimes) but don’t worry: I was able to pound out enough of these articles over the last couple of days to last until then (plus, Geoff will be here to hook you up). Well, I’ll see you later then … have a great Christmas … I hope you get everything you wanted!
