The Week in Review: Money Issues #13
By Pete on Oct 31, 2008 in Reviews
“The Week in Review: Money Issues” is my weekly blog research on financial topics that define us as Americans, and shape the way we should do business.
Somebody pinch me!
Did my Phillies just actually win the World Series Wednesday night? I still can’t believe it, and it feels so good that I never wavered (not once) like some of the fair-weather fans that I grew up with (you know who you are, posers)! It just goes to show you: the longer you wait for something, the sweeter it’s going to be when it finally happens! Thank you, everyone on the 2008 team — you deserve this one (have fun at your parade)!
Before I head out of here for the weekend, I want to leave you with some of the good stuff that I came across while surfing this morning. Enjoy:
Thespec.com: Inefficient industries don’t deserve our money. Hear that Congress? Why not tell the American public why you’re even considering bailing these greedy screw-ups out? And I don’t want to hear that it keeps jobs, because that excuse just doesn’t fly anymore. They got their selves into this mess, so make them get their selves out of it!
(UK) MSN money: You want to buy what? Ok, I’m not big on bank loans in the first place, but some of these British dum-dums took it to a whole different level! BTW: I must admit, I’m kind of feeling that whole “Suit of Armor” thing (gotta go hit up the Commerce Bank now. LOL)!
Straight Cash Homey.net: (the whole site). This website is hilarious in that it shows some of the crappiest sports jersey ever! Do yourself a favor and think about your next purchase of one first (or else you’ll wind up like these suckers [who are just straight up getting laughed at])! Funny, funny site!
WEALTHEY READER: The Right Time To Save Money. Ok, back to Seriousville! This article kind of touches on what I try to teach my readers on a daily basis: ALWAYS be prepared for emergencies, save as much as you can, and for crying out loud memorize this: “Don’t sweat the small stuff that the media turns into big stuff!”
The Greenest Dollar: How To Save Money On Your Cell Phone Bill. I thought I knew everything there was to saving on my cell phone bills. Man, was I wrong. Thank you, writer of this article, for helping me further advance my life’s mission (I mean it). Read, then head!
Were you entertained (or informed) by any of this? If so, then why not join the other Remixers and give me a little window into your soul with a little feedback (this way I can give you what you want: a website that actually listens to its readers). Geoff and I would really like to know what you like to read, so that we can write it!
And if you haven’t done so yet, also please subscribe to our feed or email! This way we can send you instant notifications of our latest posts which we work on every Monday through Friday.
I’ll see you back here on Monday … I’m going to do some celebrating this weekend, and I’m probably going to get in rare form (which is always a weird sight to see, my friends will vouch for that). Anyway, enough of my drama — have yourself a super weekend! I really mean it!
