“The Week in Review: Money Issues” is my weekly blog research on financial topics that define us as Americans, and shape the way we should do business.

Hi, my name is Pete, and I’m one of the “New Kids on the Block” here at MoneyRemix. No, I don’t have a mushroom haircut.

Today is Friday and it’s 5 O’clock somewhere (right here)! I’m wrapping up my work week, and getting ready to hit the beach, which is right down the street. I have posted some interesting articles below, which might have given you something to read over the weekend, if you weren’t going out to have some fun yourself. If this is the case, read them late Sunday/early Monday if you get bored.

• Lending Club: Does Frugal Living Hurt the Economy? Who knew being cheap could be a good thing? I did, that’s who.

• Al D’Amico’s Blog: Surviving a Down Economy A real estate “expert” researched (stole) this information, and went overboard with cheapness. Read for a good laugh (at him, not with).

• Fox News: McCain Suggests Longer Gas Tax Holiday Wow, the wheels are really coming off the Republican bus now. I can’t wait until January.

• Free Articles: Teach Kids to be Thrifty Spenders Parents, learn from this one —the kids will stop begging you for that Wii thing.

• Philadelphia City Paper: Phillies’ cheap beer > Met’s cheap beer Ok, the beer is cheaper, but it will probably get thrown out onto the field anyways.
