Like millions of other people out there, I love gadgets in all shapes and sizes!

Just looking around my desk, I’ll sprout off a few that I own: a coffee mug that is 100% leak-proof (you press a button to take a sip, then release it to seal it back up), a voice-controlled alarm clock from Germany, a pair of polarized sunglasses that allows me to see right through the water while I’m out fishing, and a famous maker’s multi-tool that has more features than I’ll ever use in a lifetime. Flying home for the holidays this year? Better read this first …

This holiday season is going to be filled with both good and bad news for budget-minded travelers. The bad news is that fares are much higher than usual (whatever that means, right?) flight capacity is way down and any last-minute deals are becoming scarcer to get (at least, that’s the way I’m seeing things). The good, no great, news is that if you’re the frugal type that likes to do your homework and plan ahead, you’re more than likely going to save (or have already saved, for you early-birders) as much money as physically possible in these trying times — where the airlines are just not getting “it” in our struggling economy (note: their latest “add-on” charges haven’t dropped a cent).

You’re a family man, and you’re not going to cancel your holiday plans of flying home to see everyone, I get that! So, why let the economy get you down? Why even contemplate the thought of not being able to visit your family members and old friends? That, my pal, is the single-biggest reason for travel this time of year, so do yourself a huge favor and go for it, while at the same time not breaking your bank! The big Iraq Mistake (“Uh, we thought they had WMDs.” Yea right!) has turned this nation’s pockets inside out! As the fifth anniversary of this huge lie has passed, know that it has taken over a $3 trillion dollar toll on our unstable economy.

This idiot, who burns everything he touches, and his cronies tried to sell us on a cheap war (since when is any war cheap?). Then they cut taxes on the rich even though they ran through the Clinton Era surplus. Guess what happened after this? They further funded it through borrowing from other countries (who don’t have our best interests at heart; believe that). The results of this on our economy: another $1 trillion added to the huge national debt.

Now, think about what else this money could’ve helped, if we weren’t fed that red-meat republican bu#$%@it. We could have helped our desperately poor citizens; we could have helped other allied countries who now hate us because of this big lie (freedom fries ring a bell?). Literacy rates are another thing we could have strived to increase — imagine what kind of boost that would have been to our economy. “Sorry, we can’t afford to fix that right now,” the politicians now have to confess!
