“The Week in Review: Money Issues” is my weekly blog research on financial topics that define us as Americans, and shape the way we should do business.
Hey guys, how’d your week go so far?
Was it easygoing? Did it breeze right on by? Did your Monday suddenly turn into Friday, and at the same time did your workload magically disappear into a cloud of fairy dust? Or, and this is a big or, was the boss riding you all week (way too harshly, I should add here) and putting his size 12 boot squarely onto the back of your neck, while you struggled to gain enough traction to barely squeak by (God, I hope not … please say no to this one. Please)? Yea, that was just me describing both a “dream” job and a “nightmare” job … I know you’re somewhere in the middle like the rest of us. However, I’m pretty sure you’re ready to get out of there for the weekend, am I right?
Well, here go the goodies that I dug up for you this week … hope you enjoy them: Continued

My lady is driving me absolutely nuts/bonkers this week …
Her coworkers (she’s an elementary school teacher, so they’re all women) have filled her mind with the visions-of-grandeur idea that buying a new home in the current Florida market is the greatest thing that we can do right now! “It’s not going to get any better than this,” she started in on me with, and at the end of our conversation (she did most of the talking) she called like ten realtors (those Aries are crazy [note: that’s why I married her]!!) to see what they had to say! Well, I guess I could at least look around a little … wish me luck (my Pisces ass will need it).
If you need a few moments of Zen (like I do right now … God, my brain hurts) have a look at the best of the best that I could dig up for the week: Continued

The EEEEENNNNNDDD of the week (Wooo Hoo)! It’s about time!
I swear, these last five days were dragging (I don’t think that slowing-down-on-coffee idea I told you about in my last review is really working for me — any legal suggestions [I’m not one of those guys. However, I might have to jump back on the sauce {read: coffee} if I can’t think of anything else. LOL]?) Well, regardless of this little speed bump, I got so much accomplished this week it’s not funny! On top of this, I, and the rest of the creative team, had to move all of our stuff over to a new, kick-ass, state-of-the-art building with a coffee maker in my office (why do they tempt me so? Why?) so I’m really, really ready for the weekend, of which I worked so hard to get to!
Well, here goes the good stuff (that’s what she said!): Continued

By now, we all know the name AIG!
However, what some of don’t know are the actual figures, which are sure to get anyone with at least half a brain pretty angry. So today, I will give you those real numbers (but don’t shoot the messenger, ok?): seems like Bush wanted to give us all one last, middle finger when he agreed to hand over $165 million in bonus checks to a bunch of greed-soaked employees who only acted like they worked (truth: these crooks lied their way through the workday) in AIG’s distressed Financial Products unit (truth: these jerks knew that they we’re doing something deceptive from day one). Not only that, but these bonuses happened to be only a small part of an even bigger package ($450 million, to be exact) which these employees thought was rightfully theirs (oh, I’d love to punch a few of these a-holes right in the temple and kidney). Here come the holidays, people (and by “people” I really mean my new friends [note: you’re one of them, if you choose to accept this offer])!
I have a very long drive that starts at 5:30 tomorrow morning! I will be redbulling and coffeeing it all the way up I-95 from Boca Raton to Philly (I more than likely will have some major migraine headaches somewhere around South Carolina)! Who am I taking up with me, you ask? Well my fiancée (who is also my copilot, willing to split the driving 50-50) and my whining hound dog named Bailey (I have some “calm down” pills for him). Man, this should be fun … until we hit those ice storms that are wreaking havoc on the whole Northeast this weekend!
Well, here goes the best of the best that I could dig up this week … enjoy: Continued
