I Had A Weird Wakeup Call This Morning!

I usually hit the old snooze button like three times before I can get my lazy Pisces ass out of bed, but today was certainly different! Please … let me explain:

I don’t know if you know this or not, but there are about eleven, totally different kinds of people living inside my brain, and half of them are like seven shades of crazy! However, there’s this one heavy cat, who always finds a way to pay his rent on time (note: he’s a great conversationalist when he’s not up to his regular, Type-A kind of s@#t) who laid it all out on the line for me at 7:05 am, which caused me to want to get up and face the rest of the day like a cougar … yea, you heard me right, a freaking cougar (the wild animal, not the stupid high school team in bubblef@#k, Corn Country, U.S. of A)! So this is what he said to me (hey, what are you doing? Calling the nuthouse on me? Yea, others have tried that before … those places won’t accept me anyways! So put down the phone and listen for a second or 60 … LOL): Continued

The Week in Review: Money Issues #54

The Week in Review: Money Issues” is my weekly blog research on financial topics that define us as Americans, and shape the way we should do business.

To whomever made the coffee today: Damn you all to hell!

Man, I have been to the bathroom three times already! Oh, hey there … didn’t see you! How was your week so far? Busy? Yea, I know what you mean … this place has been a zoo all week long, and I’m finally getting everything wrapped up! Oh, that coffee thing I was talking about? Yea, someone brought in some Cuban coffee, and my Gringo ass can’t handle that stuff (even though it tastes pretty good)! I’ll stick to my morning blend thank you (note: if you think that I offended my Cuban friend, don’t! He’s laughing at me right now. “You’re a pain in my ass, Carlos! Cague Cabeza.” See, that’s how we roll around here)!

Well, onto the good stuff that I dug up for you this week … enjoy: Continued

The Week in Review: Money Issues #41

Damn it all to hell, my eyes hurt … pretty badly I might add here!

I’ve been on this computer (with its three screens) way too long this morning, and I still have a long waiting game until quitting time! So anyways … how’s your day going so far? You’re not at a “Mc Job” are you (please don’t say yes)? Suit and tie kind of place (Nooooo …)? Yea, that was my life a while back (when I lived up north) but down here in the Sunshine State not many people are forced to dress that way (unless their boss is a d#$k, of course!) Yea, most of us actually come to work in what most people would wear in the summer months (I steadily rock flips, shorts, and tees) … but we do it all year long! Actually, South Florida would be perfect if it weren’t for the long, dreadfully hot August months, and that whole “Hurricane Season” thing (haven’t been through one yet … and I’ve been here for over three years now [knock on wood … or a palm tree … whatever!])

Well, enough of my shenanigans … here go the weekly blog goods that you came here for (enjoy … I certainly did): Continued

Stop Drinking Coffee? Over My Dead Body!

You ever run into a whack-job, health nut on the street who told you that coffee is bad for you?

coffee

Well, if you haven’t, don’t worry … they’re all the same: first they’ll start clamoring into their long-winded, holier-than-thou spiel of telling you how coffee is no good for you, and that sooner or later it’s going to affect your blood pressure to the point that it will kill you. They’ll also state loudly that this is common knowledge (note: it’s not, by a long shot). What they won’t state at all: that they’re on the ‘roids again (note: they are). Freaking drug-addicted hypocrites!

Despite these weirdoes we, as pure-blooded Americans, continue to enter the coffee shops by the millions every single day (this just in: tea sucks, coffee kicks its ass). For many of us during this down-sloped economy, however, getting this daily fix is tearing out a huge hole in our pockets! What’s a person to do, you ask? Cut down on the good stuff? No thank you, sir … I’d rather give up my cable services than do something crazy like that (there’s nothing good on TV anyways). Sure, it kind of makes sense from a strictly financial standpoint, but from where I’m standing it doesn’t look likely to happen! Continued

The Week in Review: Money Issues #28

“The Week in Review: Money Issues” is my weekly blog research on financial topics that define us as Americans, and shape the way we should do business.

Man, I had a pretty good day today!

You see, I’ve been trying to stay off the drugs and have been cutting way back (when I say “drugs”, I really mean coffee). That black gold has helped keep my writing fingers go on for days at a time, but sometimes it gives me a pounding headache. So now, I’m down to one 16oz. ceramic cup a day! You know what … I feel ten times better because of this change in my lifestyle (I hope I can keep it going). Now if I could only force myself to go out and exercise more (this has been a slowly-evolving process for me, but I’ll eventually get back on track)!

Well, here goes the good stuff for this week … enjoy: Continued
