Imagine Saying, “I Love My Job!” For A Moment!

Not many people work at a place they love!

In fact, most people don’t! I would even care to wager that not many people even partially like their jobs. They work for the weekend, or their next vacation … not for the thrill of the 9-to-5 stuff! I, personally, have a unique work situation: not only do I absolutely love writing, but I can also do it from almost anywhere in the world. With a phone, an internet connection, and a laptop, I am a portable problem-solving, project-managing studio on legs (note: it’s incredibly sweet!). Ok, I actually rely on routine of some sort, but have found that a change in scenery from time to time is needed to keep me depression-free (even a brief walk in the park can really clear my head and revive me for the rest of the day).

So, you want to do what you love too, huh? That’s a serious question, my friend … and right now it’s more relevant than ever. With this stupid recession looming over everyone’s mind, and jobs getting cut left and right, people’s spirits are really being put through the ringer. So why not ask yourself now, “What it is that I can do, and hopefully enjoy, which could possible help others and bring in a profit at the same time?” Hey, this is the only life you or I have, after all. On the other hand, if you’re going to make a living doing what you love, you have to find a way to market yourself at the same time. As for me and my personal situation, I’ve learned that helping others while increasing my own knowledge and skills at the same time is at least MY key to success! Continued

Determination Isn’t For Chicken S@#t Quitters!

“I just can’t do it … I tried it like a hundred times, but I always fail. I’m a loser baby, so why should I keep on going? People are laughing at me, but they don’t know how hard it is! I hate to give up, but I must! Man, I wish things could have been different, but when I really think about it, I always knew it was going to turn out this way! I knew it every since I was a kid. Well, it’s never going to happen for me … better GIVE UP now.” Ah, shut the hell up … you panty waste!

God, I hate people who talk like this … who give up at the first sign of trouble! Do you think we’d be here today if our founding fathers gave up so easily … just surrendered themselves to the British, I mean? And what about Henry Ford … do you seriously think we’d be where we are today without mass-produced, affordable transportation? No, we wouldn’t, if you were confused about that one! So why not do yourself a huge favor and drop all that loser talk right now … your job in life is far from done (I mean really far)! Continued

Failure Is Actually An Option Sometimes!

Ok, you have to be a serious idiot to want to fail at something … I get that!

However, this thing we call “failure” is always a possibility. What really annoys me about those “failure is not an option” jerks (A.K.A. arrogant pr@#cks) is that they are ultimately the ones least willing to deliver the intellectual and physical bravado that’s needed to lessen the probability of failure (“Dude, failure is NOT an option!” they’ll falsely shout out, while at the same time covering up their own insecurities). My beef with these phonies is that they go through life playing it safe, based on the fact that they’re afraid of failure. Continued

Hugging It Out With That D@#k From Work!

Is some jerk-off getting you all kinds of Incredible Hulk pissed off at work (which is making your productivity level take a sharp nosedive)?

Well, you’re not alone … the workplace in general crams a bunch of jumbled people together, with a ton of very different personalities (some good, and some insanely horrific) and even though most of your coworkers will be pretty easy to get along with, there will always be that one “person” who you utterly despise … even though you can’t put your finger on why! Now, what sets the workplace apart from other places, like your home life or softball team, is that everyone (even the despicable people) must cooperate in order to get their work finished. It only makes sense then that you must do your part in relationship building to boost your company’s results! Continued

Wait … The Fat Lady Hasn’t Sung Yet!

Did your team just blow the BIG GAME? Afraid they won’t make the playoffs now? If so, then …

It sounds like you’re just having a bad day … just like the rest of us sports fans have from time to time (read: when our team is doing s@#ty)! For instance, last Monday I watched my Phightin’ Phils come back in the bottom of the ninth inning (in which no one ever saw coming … I mean NOBODY) off a Jimmy Rollins’ 2-out, game winning zinger to right center field (note: the Dodgers were flabbergasted, both mentally and physically)! Why am I telling you this, you ask? Well, for starters I wanted to rub it into the faces of the three fools they let commentate on TBS’s national coverage of this NLCS, and then I wanted to show each and every one of you that nothing is over until it’s definitely over!
