If you’re like most of us, driving in traffic is probably high on your “worst places to be” list, am I right?
Of course I am … if you look at most freeways these days, you’d think you were on a freaking Indy 500 racetrack! However, there are three excellent reasons to break away from the pack of unsafe, aggressive drivers who are polluting them. First, when you drive like this, you put yourself and everyone around you in extreme danger. Second, driving aggressively is extremely stressful (your blood pressure goes way up, your grip on the wheel tightens, your eyes become strained, and your thoughts are spinning wildly out of control). Finally, you end up saving no time at all in getting where you want to go … this is the truth, so what’s the point?! Continued

Man, I just had “Old Red” up to 60 miles per hour in a 45 (Ok, ok … I know I just broke the law. Whatever … like you never did that)!
Ok, my car’s not much to look at anymore, but in my defense (and his) I only view cars as transportation, and not as a status symbol (like so many phonies in this world do) so I don’t give a rat’s a@# what my car looks like if it’s getting me around just fine (plus, no car payments equals much more money in the bank for yours truly)! Here’s how I view car ownership: I run ‘em till their wheels fall off, or until the cost of repairs become greater than the vehicle is worth. Continued

Car salesmen are notorious for trying to sell their “victims” way over-priced, extended warranties on their lease vehicles, even when they know damn well that the vehicle is under manufacturer’s warranty during the entire period of the lease. Hey leasers, did you know this? If not, read on …
Extended warranties are high-profit items, and car dealer love to “offer” them out like candy to everyone who steps onto their lot, especially to the people who only lease their vehicles. The reason for this: dealer markups range from $200 to $900, and they make more cash with the leases. So, as you can hopefully now clearly see: it is no wonder warranty contracts are pushed so hard from these scumbags — even when they know damn well that people really, really don’t need them.
Below are five examples of the bogus arguments and gimmicks salesman use to trick unsuspecting lease customers into paying big bucks for unneeded warranties (you’ve been warned): Continued

Cars are such a pain-in-the-a%$, but without them our life would turn snail-like super fast! Sure, we could jump on the old bicycle and ride the ten miles to work, pick up a date or go grocery shopping (yea right) but then again … no we can’t (it’ll never work) because we, as Americans, are way too lazy and proud … you know this, man!
Ok, now that we have already established the fact that we need our cars, what about the people who don’t have one yet, or the people who keep dumping their hard-earned money into an old jalopy? It is for these exact same people that the rest of this article is written (for those of you who have a nice car, scram Sam. Did they leave? Good! Let’s proceed, shall we?). Well, you’re almost certainly going to need a loan to purchase your new car (unless you’re independently wealthy, in which case what are you doing reading my nonsense? Let me learn from you). When buying a new car, there is a couple of very simple, money-saving methods that are so obvious they are often overlooked. Not any longer … Continued

I need a project car to fiddle around with …
Why? Well, old beat-up cars for starters are super fun to drive (you don’t have to worry if they get scratched up) and they also help get me away from the stupid television (the same one in which I am forced to watch reality shows on, because I lose the remote battle with my wife most of the times). I really only want to blow $500 or less if possible, and was wondering out loud if this is a reasonable goal or not … Well, here goes my journey (shortened due to my own article length limitations. I hate to drone on and on about things) …
So last week I called up some local tow companies to see if they had any cars that weren’t claimed, and if they would sell them to me to recoup some of their costs. This wasn’t my first rodeo with these kind of people … I once bought a nice ’89 Silverado off a tow yard for $800 cash (that baby ran pretty strong, until I did what I do, and blew out the tranny on some ice trail patches). Prior to my accident, it got me to and from work just fine (afterwards, not so much). Well, none of these places had anything worth looking at (I found out over the phone) so I moved on to the next step … Continued
