Stop Giving The Pet Food Companies Your Money!

Our pets solely depend on us for their health and safety … period!
People, I don’t know if you know this or not but the greed-driven corporations that are making your pet’s food are not doing a very good job at it. I’ve recently have been searching the web in the hopes that I could find out the process and ingredients that are going into the pet food that I am feeding my pal Bailey, and guess what … it’s not a pretty picture! My advice to ALL pet owners: we need to start feeding our pets the same food that we’re eating — let me tell you why!
It is no big secret to veterinarians and pet owners alike that commercially-processed dog food has been linked directly to thousands of pet deaths each and every day in the United States (this is a fact. Scary, huh?). The reason for this: these pet food companies are one-two punching our animals with a combination of unbalanced nutrition and the use of preservatives, dyes, chemicals, animal by-products (usually diseased meat) and fillers like corn, which is a substance that most animals can’t digest.
Also, the cheaper brands are being loaded with way too many calories and not enough vitamins, minerals, proteins, or carbohydrates. As for the premium brands: most are found to be either too high, or too low in protein, calories and other nutrients for particular pets. This certainly can’t be good for your best friend now, can it?
The alternative to this blatant crime: many animal experts are now recommending homemade recipes for your pets, which consists of anything from ingredients like raw meat to vegetarian diets that contain naturally balanced vegetable ingredients. Even though your pet’s menu requirements may differ slightly from yours, they are still not so different that you can’t feed them the same stuff that you eat daily.
Things to note while evaluating your options:
Both dogs and cats live extremely well on the natural nutrients and enzymes that are found in raw meat. However, like humans each dog may have their own specific nutritional needs, so find out what they are first.
Dogs do not require as many carbohydrates as a human does to maintain their health, so choose a diet that is low in carbs, and high in protein (this is the ideal diet for most pets).
A healthy dog’s diet should consist of approximately 40% protein, and about 30% starch (note: this is much like your diet, so it should be kind of easy to prepare).
Wrapping up, what you feed your pet is, of course, entirely up to you. You can take your chances with the more expensive pet foods on the market (with the hopes that they do indeed contain natural ingredients. Psst … they won’t) or you can use whatever you have in your own refrigerator to easily prepare healthier meals for the ones you love. My guarantee: these homemade recipes are going to be much fresher, cheaper, and healthier (bonus: they can also, most of the times, be prepared without much difficulty).
Most importantly of all: you’ll now have the comfort and sound mind of knowing that your pet is receiving the perfectly balanced food that they were meant to eat.
