I Love eBay (You Should Too)!

A few years ago, I was introduced to one of my best friends: eBay!
I know, I know … First off you can’t be friends with a website (actually one of the biggest sites on the Internet) unless you’re weird, and second shouldn’t I worry about things like security and being ripped off, right?
Well, my answers to the questions above are 1) Yes, I am pretty weird sometimes (especially when I’m saving a bunch of money) and 2) Of course, there are scam artists all over the world (be they on the Internet or in real life) but for the most part you should be able to shop around on eBay without any concerns. If you are worrying about eBay’s security, you may want to visit eBay’s help center, where you can find tons of information on the subject. Can’t find an answer you’re looking for? Well, you may want to think about contacting their customer service department, since they provided their 800-number for you to call at any hour of the day or night.
In addition to being very safe and secure, there are like a billion potential eBay users who hang around and see what they can buy on the cheap (I’m one of them). The good news is that you can easily find out what is for sale on eBay, without even having an eBay account. If you are looking for something in particular, you can perform an eBay search with the item of your interest (try to get as specific as you can with your keywords. That’s what I do and it always works). If you are just looking to explore the site to get some general ideas, you can also browse through the almost unlimited number of eBay selling categories to get started.
Another question a lot of eBayers have is, “What are the methods of accepted payments?” As you may already know, eBay is actually an online auction website, which lets other internet users post items that they have for sale. For this reason, you will often find that there are many different ways to pay, but most eBay sellers are more than likely going to want you to use PayPal (personal checks, and money orders are often unacceptable forms of payment) for safety reasons and their policies are top-notch.
You can easily explore eBay without having to register for an account (good for those who don’t like to commit to things at first). Then, if you like what you see and if you want to actually buy something that you’re interested in, you’ll need to register an account with them. Within a few minutes, at most, you could be bidding on the products that you want to own. You may even be able to find listings that are known as “Buy It Now,” listings. These listings enable to you to make your purchase right at that moment, without competition from other eBay buyers.
My experience with eBay has totally been a great one so far (I’m about five years in now) and if I look back at all the things I bought of this site, I would honestly have to say that I saved thousands on the stuff that I still cherish to this day! Thank you eBay, for coming into my life!
