How To Fix The American Auto Industries Woes!
By Pete on Feb 12, 2009 in Automotive & Gas, Cash Flow, bankruptcy
Gone are the days of cheap, reliable cars, I guess.
Man, I could remember the days when you could buy a half decent car, which wasn’t a piece of crap for under $10,000 bucks. Now, go out and try to do the same today with that amount of cash and what you’ll wind up with is either a crappy car from China or an American one made from all the scraps they had left over from the factory!
Why is this … why is there no decent car that is still affordable? Has everyone in America become numb from being forced into wasting more and more money on something that has the idea of transportation as its main goal? Do I need a $30,000, so-called sports coupe if all I’m going to do is travel back and forth from work in it? Should I waste that much money to show all my neighbors that I am just like them?
You see, that’s one of the biggest problems we, as U.S. Citizens, are facing in this day and age. The greedy car companies want bigger and bigger markups on their vehicles, so what do they do? Well, for starters, they cut a bunch of corners, and mismanage their companies. Then, it’s right off to paying the advertising agencies way too much money, because they falsely promised to make their viewers buy whatever they want them to buy!
Seriously, how many times have you been literally bombarded with truck commercials that say only real men drive their trucks? How many times have you seen a luxury car ad that says you’re not sexy unless you empty your bank account on one of their pieces of crap wrapped in a nice package? If I were to answer both of these questions, I would honestly have to say way too much! NO I don’t think real men need a truck (unless they’re compensating for something) and NO, I don’t think a luxury car is going to make someone who is ugly on the inside any more attractive. Sorry, that’s just the way I feel!
This is the general views of most Americans, once they start being honest with themselves … but they won’t admit it because it is not a popular stance to take these days (and I know this). So let me shout out something very important from the rooftops, in the hopes that at least one of the companies begging for more money from Congress will take notice before they fall by the waste-side: Most Americans need (forget false ‘wants’ for a second. Pipe dreams won’t get your company back on track) a car that gets good gas mileage (preferably over 35 MPG) isn’t an eyesore, doesn’t start breaking down after the first year (try making ‘em like they used to when they actually wanted cars to last) and is priced under $10,000 (that’s even too much, in this economy, if you ask me).
Do you hear that company? Does that sound like a winning combination or what? If you said “No”, good luck with that whole bankruptcy thing (cause that’s where you’re heading). If you said “Yes”, you just won the Grand prize … I see you turning your whole company around for the better in a couple years!
Well, I have to get out of here … I’m off to help fix the next failing industry, who didn’t pay attention to its customers for way too long — catch you later!
