God Has An Awesome Curveball Up His Sleeve!

Life is like a baseball diamond, with God standing on the mound (note: if God, or MLB, talk offends you, you may want to leave now, sinner. LOL)!

God's Curveball

Seriously, life brings us many unexpected, and often unwelcome, series of events. Now, why do you think this kind of crap happens? In your eyes, are these experiences considered punishments, lessons, or opportunities? How about a little bit of each (note: this is the more likely scenario). Life tests each and every one of us, and at times the situation is so severe that we may feel more beat down than tested, am I right? So, is life a series of lessons to be learned? Or opportunities to see everything it has to offer? Have you ever wondered, “Why would God do this to me?” Well, here’s my theory on that subject: God loves that nasty breaking pitch of his, which is so hard to get a bead on! Yes, I am serious.

Right now you may feel like you’re getting a lot of curveballs thrown at you. Maybe God changed those plans that you thought were so freaking solid! Maybe you though, to a “t”, that you knew what God wanted you to do in life, only to find out that those doors did not open the way that you had expected them to, or people did not respond in the way that you hoped they would. This may have left you scratching your head and wondering, “What happened, God? Why aren’t things working out the way that they’re supposed to?” Again, he just loves to take control on that mound … that’s all!

What God has taught me in life so far (or what I think he has taught me, at least) is that when the Lord zings a hammer down the pipe at 101 mph, you better change what you’re looking for … quickly (or else it’s going to hurt, like hell). Just like any good hitter in baseball can adjust to the speed and angle of anything in a pitcher’s repertoire, you have got to be ready to adjust to whatever circumstances are thrown your way. Then once you realize that these holy curving heaters can be hit too, you shouldn’t be afraid of knocking that rock out of the park (translation: making the best of a new/unforeseen situation)!

Sure, sometimes life throws you yakkers and it’s not even your fault … I get that (I really do)! However, this is only God’s way of trying to work something different into your life, and forcing you to change that one-hit wonder you usually step up to bat with (note: these are the easiest guys to strike out … for a reason). He wants you to stop with the same old, same old (which is presently tearing your life apart) and move on from the past. So, why not do something entirely different than he is used to … that’s the only way you’re going to score big time in life (trust me)? I ultimately believe that when we fail to change, God has no choice but to shake up THE GAME a bit (or a lot, for the hard headed) until we get the message, and the faster we get it, the quicker the good life and lots of fans comes back into our lives.

Now, here are the things you need to ask yourself, in these moments of “turmoil”: 1) “Can I remain tranquil?” 2) “Will I do whatever I can to solve the problems that I’m facing without anger, self-pity, fret, or worry?”, and 3) “Am I handling this well from an emotional standpoint?” Now, if you can answer YES to all three questions, you’re well on your way to changing your life for the better (trust me, God’s not that cruel … it’s for your own good. Oh, and your family’s good as well!).

Plus, it could be worse … he could have used his cutter (which is much harder to hit, as most fans of baseball know)! Well, this is the way I see it (didn’t learn “it” in any church or anything, but whatev)!
