Determination Isn’t For Chicken S@#t Quitters!

“I just can’t do it … I tried it like a hundred times, but I always fail. I’m a loser baby, so why should I keep on going? People are laughing at me, but they don’t know how hard it is! I hate to give up, but I must! Man, I wish things could have been different, but when I really think about it, I always knew it was going to turn out this way! I knew it every since I was a kid. Well, it’s never going to happen for me … better GIVE UP now.” Ah, shut the hell up … you panty waste!

God, I hate people who talk like this … who give up at the first sign of trouble! Do you think we’d be here today if our founding fathers gave up so easily … just surrendered themselves to the British, I mean? And what about Henry Ford … do you seriously think we’d be where we are today without mass-produced, affordable transportation? No, we wouldn’t, if you were confused about that one! So why not do yourself a huge favor and drop all that loser talk right now … your job in life is far from done (I mean really far)!

Want to be a future success story? Want people to talk about you long after you’re gone? Well, then, you need to get your hands on some steel-grit determination. This stuff is more valuable than intelligence. Sure, everyone likes to falsely believe that smart people succeed way more often in life, and sure it makes for a better story in the funny pages (“This Company Success Lies In Its Owner’s Wisdom” they’ll write, all kiss-a@#-like). The PR people and reporters who spread such nonsense probably believe this garbage themselves … but it’s certainly not true! Ok, I’m not saying you have to be a dumbass, and it certainly helps to be smart, but it’s certainly not the deciding factor (note: there are plenty of smart people in this world who achieve nothing in life)!

Hey, even talent is overrated when compared to determination, because it partly gives onlookers an excuse for being lazy, and partly because after a while determination starts to look like talent anyways. I can’t think of any field out there in which determination is overrated, can you? Here are the cold, hard facts: the simplest form of determination is sheer willfulness. When you want something bad enough, you must have it no matter what it takes, and this is where determination steps in. Being strong-willed is not going to be enough, however … you also have to be extra hard on yourself in the process! Plus, there’s another major component of determination: ambition.

Most people don’t know how ambitious to be, especially when they’re young and inexperienced. They don’t know what’s hard and what’s not, or what they’re fully capable of handling, especially if their hanging out with the wrong crowd of nitwit losers. Ambitious people are pretty damn rare in this day and age, so if everyone is mixed together randomly, as they tend to be early in people’s lives, then the ambitious ones aren’t going to have a lot of ambitious peers … that’s just the facts of life! However, when you take people from all walks of life like this, and put them together with ambitious people, they bloom like dying plants given water. Know what I mean?

So, if you want to create success for yourself, the way to do it is to focus more on your needs than on your interests, and make up the difference with determination. I’m about to get personal in 3, 2, 1 …: “It’s taken me many years, but I’ve finally reached the point where I know what I want out of life, and I am willing to do whatever it takes to get there … seriously, no obstacle is too great to knock down my determination!” How did I finally reach this conclusion, you ask? Well, for starters, I had to change my reactions to things that were knocking my legs out from under me, gain more confidence in myself, as well as patience, and I also had to learn to give without expecting anything in return. That last one, of course, took me a lot longer than the rest, and required consistent effort over a period of time on my part, but I finally saw the light a few years ago, and I’m really glad that I did! It changed my world around for the better!

My friend, only you can decide if you have done everything you can do to make something happen. Only you can decide if you have actually given it enough time, tried enough different paths, tried every option that you can think of, explored everything it takes to become successful in that area, dealt with all the trials and tribulations, and so on and so forth! However, if you have truly done everything you personally can do and still failed, then the next two steps are “acceptance” and “moving on”. Understand?

Did you know this: the only person who can give you permission to let go and move on in life is you? Also, that as you move on, there are always going to be many friends and associates moving right alongside WITH you … just remember this, when you’re at your lowest! Hey, anyone can give up (note: it’s the easiest thing in the world to do) but to hold it together when everyone else would understand if you fell apart … now that’s true strength (A.K.A. determination) and one of the keys to great success!
