“The Week in Review: Money Issues” is my weekly blog research on financial topics that define us as Americans, and shape the way we should do business.
Man, what a week I just had!
Ok, here goes the cool part: I was chilling in Key West, and got to live the Jimmy Buffett lifestyle for a while (I mean BEFORE he sold out, I mean!) and kicking back with my lady! Ready for the bad part? Ok, I was on antibiotics for this minor skin infection, and I shouldn’t have been in the sun or drinking … oops, too late! What resulted from this “oops”: a little sunburn (which hurts and itches) and a little thinning of hair on the top of my head (doc said it’s only temporary … he better be right! LOL). Ok, it’s not too bad, but it’s not cool, that for sure!
Well, let’s change the subject shall we? Good … here goes the best I could dig up for you this week! Enjoy: Continued

Morning folks …
Hey, how’d your Thanksgiving go last week? Did you have a bunch of family members come over and talk all about the good old days … like when you did this (note: can write it here … not family friendly. Sorry) or this (again … ah you get my point). Did you do some flying to get to their house instead? If so, how were the airlines? Slow? Did you have to take out a loan for everything? OK, enough of the small talk … what cool stuff did you buy on Black Friday (or on Cyber Monday instead … for you nerds)? As for me, I bought one of those fancy flat-screen TVs with all the trimmings and a few other less significant items myself … man, this TV is sweet (my sports are coming in so much clearer now)!
Well, here go the goods to get you through the workday (or at least a small portion of it): Continued

Hey there, Pilgrim …
Do you realize that next week is going to be a short work week for most of us, thanks to that whole “Pilgrim/Indian giving thanks” celebration that originated way back when? Yea, I don’t think those guys had our 9 to 5 work structure in mind when they created this holiday, or the fact that we’d be getting two back-to-back holidays off in a row (Christmas … I was talking about Christmas. You know that national holiday that “they” give us, and our kids, time off for each year) but I, personally, am so glad that they did! So here goes my thanks early people … Cheers to those who partook in that Plymouth Rock party (I think that’s where it took place … but you know how messed up our history has been recorded, don’t you?)… you guys kick a@#!
Well anyways, here goes something else you can give thanks for (me to stop blabbering and give up the goodies [A.K.A. blog finds]): Continued

Hey guys, how’d your week go so far?
Was it easygoing? Did it breeze right on by? Did your Monday suddenly turn into Friday, and at the same time did your workload magically disappear into a cloud of fairy dust? Or, and this is a big or, was the boss riding you all week (way too harshly, I should add here) and putting his size 12 boot squarely onto the back of your neck, while you struggled to gain enough traction to barely squeak by (God, I hope not … please say no to this one. Please)? Yea, that was just me describing both a “dream” job and a “nightmare” job … I know you’re somewhere in the middle like the rest of us. However, I’m pretty sure you’re ready to get out of there for the weekend, am I right?
Well, here go the goodies that I dug up for you this week … hope you enjoy them: Continued

Congratulations 2009’s New York Yankees…
You truly showed this nation that you can win anything, if you throw enough money at the problem! Yea, kids all across this nation are learning a valuable lesson here … and another thing they’re learning is that people like A-rod and Pettitte can use performance enhancing drugs, but others like J.C. Romero can’t! Oh, and that his (A-roid’s) home runs don’t actually have to leave the park to count (paid off umpires? Probably)! Way to go, New York … buy the best players out there, for twice as much as any other team can afford (don’t worry about that salary cap thing … because Selig’s too much of a p@#*y to put one in place) and you’ll have a shot at winning another one next year! Oh yea, almost forgot … Go Phillies (too bad your heart wasn’t enough to overcome this monstrosity)!!! You looked great this year, regardless!
Ok, now on to the good stuff that I dug up for you (while I consume some more of these bitter pills): Continued
