Welcome To The Global Warming Company!

There’s a lot of talk about global warming lately, and I’d like to add my own two cents!

For starters, there are obviously two different streets one could walk down, but let me say this: there are super-rich people living on both of them, and they only got this way because they’re profiting off of the common American’s ignorance (note: I don’t mean the derogatory version of this word, and I’m definitely not calling all Americans stupid. It’s just that we have other s@#t to worry about, so we don’t have the time to uncover every little aspect of this very confusing subject. There are mouths to feed, and mortgage payments to make … “they” know this, and are seizing this golden opportunity to add the fear factor, without the masses being able to do much about it). It’s absolutely true, and this is the way I see it (in a nutshell …without a lot of research, because I also have other crap to do!)… Continued

A Cabbie Once Told Me, “Fix It While It’s Cheap!”

I used to be a New Yorker (not a rude one) and was once taught a valuable lesson from a cab driver who goes by the name Donny.

While on the subject of how he keeps his cab (it was not company-owned) running in tip-top shape he told me, “Maintenance is about either paying for it now or paying for it later. Not conducting proper preventive maintenance has a huge impact because it is very cheap, relatively, to fix something early on with your own two hands (as opposed to taking it to a garage). If you break down on the road, it will usually cost you at least triple the repair cost at these highway bandit shops they’ll tow it to.”

“But, the focus should be on where to spend maintenance money,” he said, “because you can go broke by over-maintaining your automobile as well, so you’ll have to determine the key areas on the vehicle you need to maintain. Pay special attention to your brakes, followed by the tires, axle’s alignment, air and fluid filtration, the cooling system, batteries, transmission linkages, and all chassis and body fasteners.” I didn’t know what all this meant at the time; today, I broke down on the highway, and found out the hard way!

A few rules of thumb for preventative maintenance, you’ll need to stay on top of, are listed below (abide by them, and learn from my costly mistake): Continued

The Week in Review: Money Issues #44

“The Week in Review: Money Issues” is my weekly blog research on financial topics that define us as Americans, and shape the way we should do business.

Is it Friday already?

Man (used as an expressive noun. Not gender specific), these weeks have just been zooming by … I could have sworn we just got a new President and won the World Series last night! Well, this is my 44th review, and just like that other #44 (my man, BHO) I’m going to add a little extra flavor to the mix (oh, that’s why my last review was full of crap! LOL) and keep it coooool! Yea, I’m pretty happy with the way things are going in the White House lately, unlike the sheep who parrot whatever the media tells them to (Sorry, I won’t get into it here! It’s just sad though). Hey Barack: keep up the good work!

Well, now that I mixed politics and Friday chit-chat (my bad) here go the goodies (at least I think they are): Continued

Stalking My Prey In The Clearance Section!

If there is one thing I love in life (besides my wife, family, dog, and friends of course) it’s a bargain!

Throughout my time on this planet I’ve had varying degrees of disposable income, but no matter what my situation is at the time, I find it hard to pay full price for something that I don’t exactly need 100%! This is why I go on these weekly, get-everything-as-cheap-as-humanly-possible missions over at the different stores that I frequent (Target, Wal-Mart, occasionally the Bass Pro Shop [when the urge hits me to drive the 20 miles to Fort Lauderdale] and my all-time favorite place to shop, Cabela’s [which I only get to do once a year, when I go up to see my family in PA around the holidays])! Once I’m in the store, however, it’s always the same — game time! This is how I start the hunt … Continued

Rush Limbaugh: Stupid Is As Stupid Claims!

Know how I can tell that this country is all kinds of screwed up?

rush-limbaugh

Rush Limbaugh actually has people listening to his garbage, that’s how! This guy is a complete a-hole from the get-go: he’s abusive to minorities, but will always champion various special interest groups: multi-millionaires, bankers, owners of private planes and yachts, drug companies, etc. However, in a strange turn of events, these aren’t the kind of people who listen to this rich crackhead’s nasty spew of hatred — it’s actually the poor and ignorant (weird huh?)! What the hell America … why are we giving this guy airtime? Why am I talking about him right now? What makes this d@#k so damn special? I wanted answers to these questions, so I did a little research, and this is what I have discovered about this jerk-off (in my five-minute Google session [any longer and I would have hung myself. I’m not kidding]) … Continued
